Once you can cut a decent cabochon, the next problem is holding onto something too small to hold. A dopping stick solves it, and it opens up opals and all the little stones you had to skip before.

What to wear No loose sleeves, spinning wheels are unforgiving. Tie long hair back. Hearing protection is optional and we have some.
