Read this first. You must have taken a casting class before, and your wax models need to be carved, finished, and ready to cast when you walk in. If you haven't taken it yet, start with Lost Wax Casting. Previous spruing experience is required.
Studio access and professional equipment for waxes you've already carved.
You did the carving at home. Now you need a kiln, a vacuum, and someone experienced standing nearby when something looks wrong. That's this.
What you'll do
How it runs
What it costs One to two flasks per student, $10 per flask at the end. Casting grain is not included: bring sterling scrap with no solder in it, or buy silver or bronze grain on the day.
Worth knowing There are no demos and no instruction here. Your pieces should be ready to go. Casting 3D prints or organic material like flowers and twigs needs to be cleared with staff first.
All photos are our students' work.
