Hoop Earrings

A gentle first class that ends with earrings you'll actually wear.

Hoops look easy and teach a surprising amount: how wire behaves, how solder flows, how to get two things to match. It's a good way to find out whether you like this before committing to a longer class.

What you'll learn

• Using files, pliers, and a hammer without fighting them
• Soldering with a torch, from first flame on
• The different types of wire and solder, and when to reach for which
• Finishing a wearable pair start to finish

Do I need experience? None at all.

What it costs Tools and materials are included except the silver, which is added at the end, usually $10 to $20.

What you take home At least one pair of handmade hoops, and a decent idea of whether metalsmithing is your thing.
