Brittany Golden jewelry artist and teacher

Brittany Golden

As a child with an overactive imagination and a habit of collecting rocks in her pockets, Brittany Golden could often be found digging to China or climbing the tallest tree. It was no surprise that Brittany became the family's resident artist. Today, she is not only a celebrated local artist, but also internationally recognized.

On a whim in 2002, Brittany signed up for a jewelry class at the local college while studying the art of creating teeth. It was here she became fascinated with the metal casting process. After pursuing her passion for working with metal further, she studied precious stone setting under Blaine Lewis and more non-traditional metal techniques with Robert Dancik. Her real-life calling was then born—jewelry making.

Starting in 2004, Brittany was the silversmith instructor at Sundance Resort for nine years while also running her own private teaching studio in Provo. In 2013, she brought her passion for silversmithing and teaching to Salt Lake City, UT. Since then, B Golden Jewelry School has offered a wide range of classes that explore various techniques and mediums in metalsmithing, including an intensive 20-week Jewelry Business Accelerator Program.

In August 2020, she was presented with the opportunity to purchase another jewelry school in Austin, TX. Since then, she has expanded her vision and passion to that space and grown both locations by adding new classes, instructors, and virtual classes.

In March 2021, the business moved into a larger building in Salt Lake City. The new location includes an extensive retail space selling tools, equipment, materials, stones, and silver supplies needed to make jewelry. Additionally, more dedicated studio spaces were created to accommodate the expansion.

Her past accolades include: Her jewelry appears in the book “30 Minute Rings” and was featured at the Sundance Gallery for ten years. She has also been the featured artist in several exhibits within Utah and galleries across the country. She was a member of the Society of North American Goldsmiths, a major sponsor at National events, and a speaker for their virtual educational series.  She was on the Craft Lake City Advisory Board for four years and helped in the growth and direction of the yearly DIY Makers Event.  She has been a judge for an International Jewelry Competition through AMCAW.  She served as the President of the Women’s Jewelry Association Salt Lake Chapter and won an award at the Leaders Conference for the fastest-growing Chapter.

Avery Giblin B Golden Jewelry School Instructor

Avery Giblin

Hi everyone! My name is Avery. I am originally from Southern California, but I’ve been living in Utah for the past three years, and it’s become my home.

I’m deeply passionate about drawing, painting, making jewelry, and advocating for mental health and neurodiversity. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Utah in 2023, and I currently work in research.

Whenever I have spare time, I am either creating in my studio or adventuring outside. Nature and the mythology surrounding it are major sources of inspiration for me, influencing both my artwork and my creative process.

Jamie Winters lapidary artist instructor

Jamie Winters

Born in the Rocky Mountains in Salt Lake City; Jamie Winters young work history started with him teaching first aid, communications, and conservation to Cub Scouts as a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.

Soon after high school, he joined the United States Navy as a Seabee learning extensive machinery and equipment. During this time, he also found himself teaching, this time as the detachment Senior Military Instructor.

Jamie has been a lifelong rockhound and took that passion further and learned to cut and polish the stones he had gathered for years. Now Jamie makes jewelry from his work as well and collects more stones to cut open. He loves to see what people make with raw stone and in the end, learn about their world a little more.

You can find Jamies beautifully crafted and polished stones for sale in our retail store.

Hi, I’m Jessi. Mom of 2 boys & long time resident of Taylorsville. I enjoy hiking, photography & metalsmithing in my home studio that my sons & I built. I’ve been creating one of a kind, wearable works of art for 7 years.

I spent 20+ years in animal medicine before transferring into human medicine. And while medicine & healthcare has always been my “bread & butter”, making has always been my passion. A way to stay balanced.

I love to create with my own two hands & share my knowledge with others. I’ve taught bread, cheese, & cider making, as well as crochet & gardening classes. Now I’m adding lapidary & smithing to the list!

Sarah Wayment jewelry artist

Sarah Wayment

Hi, I’m Sarah! I first started making jewelry in 2018 with spoon rings, and started my small-scale business with my dad. In 2023, I took my first metalsmithing class, got my own bench and tools, and have been happily working with silver ever since.

My small-batch jewelry business keeps me busy, but what I love most about metalsmithing is the creativity it allows—I get to play, experiment, and bring new ideas to life in metal. I’m excited to share my passion and skills here at B Golden Jewelry School!

Sean Eckel jewelry artist instructor

Sean Eckel

Sean Eckel is an artist whose passion for creating spans various outlets including jewelry making and stone shaping. Beginning his journey in metalsmithing and lapidary 8 years ago, with many years of wire wrapping before that, he has grown in experience and ability over time. Each piece of jewelry he makes is an opportunity to intentionally love and adorn ourselves with natural and hand-crafted elegance. Unique and special bits of Earth combined with artisan handiwork.

Drawn to a clean, harmonious design aesthetic and the main focus being the stones, he prefers materials that tell a visually striking or geologically fascinating story. Preferably both! This has led to an affinity for picture jaspers, dinosaur bones, colorful agates, and any other rocks or minerals that capture the imagination.

For all who appreciate the beauty of the earth and the workmanship it inspires, Sean's jewelry offers a distinctive blend of manmade artistry and natural wonder.

Tatum Lee

Tatum grew up in Las Vegas, NV and has loved to create and make art for as long as she can remember. Middle school was photography, high school was sewing and costume design, in college it became painting and drawing, and eventually she got her BFA in Studio Art in 2015 with an emphasis in oil painting.

Once she completed her undergraduate degree, she missed the classroom environment and decided to take her first metalsmithing making class from Brittany Golden in 2015. Tate continues to pursue her art career painting landscapes that reflect on concepts of time, relationships to people/place, and even touches on themes of loss. Tate has loved to expand her creative energy into other mediums like silversmithing where she can make wearable art that explores similar concepts. Tatum teaches Intro to Metalsmithing, Full Day Metalsmithing, and Combo Lapidary & Metalsmithing classes.

Yarden Yamin

Hey, my name is Yarden (AKA Jordy) and I have been designing and making jewelry for as long as I can remember.

I grew up in Israel but now live in Utah with my husband and my cat Cleo. As a fifth generation jeweler whose family originated from Mosul, Iraq before moving to Israel, I learned everything I know from my dad, who learned from his dad before him, and so on and so forth.

I love creating new pieces, playing around with the materials, and adore the jewelry making process. My inspirations come from nature, art, fashion, and normal daily life.
