Intro To Prong Setting: 4 & 6 Prong Faceted Stone Setting

In this 3-hour class, you will learn the fundamentals of traditional prong setting by setting faceted stones into professional-style mountings. This hands-on class is designed for beginners and provides a strong foundation in one of the most common stone-setting techniques used in jewelry making.

Students will learn how to
properly prepare and set faceted stones in both a 6-prong basket setting and a classic 4-prong Tiffany-style setting. Topics covered include faceted stone anatomy, proper stone height placement, ensuring stones are level in the setting, cutting seats, and securely setting stones using professional stone-setting techniques.

• One 6-prong basket setting with a 6mm round cubic zirconia
